More flexible Swish payments

Swish now supports tapping payment cards

By adding your payment card to the Swish app, it becomes possible to "tap" and pay in stores both in Sweden and abroad.

The payment service Swish announces that it is introducing the ability to add payment cards in the Swish app. This will make it possible to pay at the checkout in stores both in Sweden and abroad by placing the mobile against the payment terminal.

Adding payment cards directly in the app means that it is possible for banks to join the new service and start offering it to their private customers. Currently, one bank is live and another has started the work, but Swish has not disclosed which ones they are. The rollout is happening gradually as banks join the service.

The payment card feature will first be introduced in the Android version of the app, but since Apple has opened up its NFC technology, it will eventually also be launched for iOS.

When a user's bank is available, information is displayed in the app indicating that it is now possible to add payment cards. To make a card purchase with the Swish app, the user holds the phone close to a contactless terminal. The customer sees the payment cards and purchase history directly in the Swish app.
