Trustly ID is introduced across Europe

New alternative to Mobile BankID for secure and fast login

Trustly, which offers payment directly via a connection to your bank account, launches new Trustly ID, which is intended to be a secure and fast way to log in to various digital services.

With Trustly ID, facial recognition is used with iPhone's Face ID, with fingerprint or with the device's pin code to confirm the login. The first time you log in, you confirm your details via the bank you are a customer of, using BankID or another approved and secure login, and then you can choose to save those details so that future logins can be done easily and smoothly. This technically happens with the help of a so-called passkey or secure key that is created during the first login. Trustly ID does not come as an app like BankID but is available directly in the mobile's browser.

Unlike BankID, Trustly ID is also a solution that works in several European countries, allowing companies operating in many countries, such as gaming companies that currently use Trustly, to use one and the same solution across all of Europe.

According to Trustly themselves, this is supposed to be a major change to make payments secure and above all easier. Trustly is currently used on several digital gaming platforms online, and the idea is that login and access to the user's personal account there will become smoother.

The first tests of the new login service are to begin within a few days, with Finland being the first country out, followed by Sweden.

Trustly is a Swedish company that handles direct payments, which means that money is transferred directly between buyer and merchant. In the case of gaming platforms, winnings can also be paid out directly, and Trustly is used at Bet365, Leovegas, Betsson, among others.
