The voice says "This call is being recorded"

Samsung Galaxy S25 now in store - First test of new call recording feature

The entire Samsung Galaxy S25 series is now in stores. Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Plus, and the base model Samsung Galaxy S25 all have a range of new features, including new AI functions, One UI 7, and the ability to record calls.

At Mobil, we have already published our tests of the new phones, and you can read our evaluations of the three phones here.

During the test period, however, not all features were available, as Samsung's announcement was that call recording would only become available today, February 7th, in conjunction with the official sales start. Among all those who pre-ordered the phone, however, many have already received their delivery and are thus already using the phone.

At Mobil, since yesterday, February 6, we have had access to call recording in our test unit of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, for our units of the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus, the feature is still not available, and several readers have reported that it is also missing in their phones. Mobil has contacted Samsung's PR representative to inquire about this, but has not received a response.

This is how call recording works in the S25 Ultra

In our test unit of the S25 Ultra, call recording has been working for a day, and we can explain how it works. In the Phone app, there are settings for the feature, and you access these settings by tapping the three dots at the top corner of the Phone app. There, Record Calls is the third option, but in our S25 and S25 Plus, this line is not visible.

When I make a call, the option to record appears on the screen after the recipient has answered the call. By clicking on that symbol, a box appears warning that a voice will inform both of you that the call is being recorded. When I then end the call, I find the recording saved in the Voice Recording app.
