Thanks for Everything, Android 12 - No Longer Receiving Updates

Google has ended all security updates for Android 12 and 12L.

Google has now officially announced that security updates for Android 12 and Android 12L will end as of April 2025. The last security update was already delivered in March 2025, but it is only now that the decision has become official. This means that those who still use either of the two operating systems are at an ever-increasing risk of becoming vulnerable to new security threats. 

According to statistics from Statcounter, over 12 percent of Android devices globally are still running Android 12 or 12L. Among the models affected are, for example, the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, Google Pixel 3a series, and Oneplus 7 series. These devices have so far received security patches through the Android Security Bulletin, but now the support window is officially closed. 

Users who are still running Android 12 but do not want or cannot upgrade to a more modern Android version or a more modern device can look at independent operating systems such as Lineage OS or Graphene OS.
