Does not want to wait until October

The next top chip Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 may arrive earlier than expected

Qualcomm may launch Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 earlier than expected, with the first phones already this year.

Qualcomm may surprise the market with plans to launch the next generation Snapdragon 8 Elite as early as the end of September, before the originally expected October launch. This is according to the leaker Digital Chat Station. According to Chinese rumours, leaked benchmark results show that the new chip comes with impressive performance improvements, with the CPU expected to be up to 25 percent faster and the GPU up to 30 percent more powerful compared to its predecessor.

The early release is a clear strategic move, intended to give Android devices a head start in the competition with Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 series, which is also expected to launch in September. The September launch could also strengthen Android manufacturers' position ahead of the intense sales period during the Christmas season. The first devices with Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 may be launched in China as early as October, while the first ones released outside China are likely not to come until early 2026.
