Samsung launches new payment feature

Samsung launches "Tap to Transfer" for fast mobile payments

Samsung has today introduced the new feature Tap to Transfer for Samsung Wallet. The feature allows users to make so-called peer-to-peer payments with a simple touch via NFC technology, enabling money to be transferred directly.

Through collaboration with Visa and Mastercard, payments can be sent directly from a debit card stored in Samsung Wallet to the recipient's bank account or digital wallet - even to a physical card via contactless payment. If the recipient is not nearby, it is possible to find their Samsung account via phone number and make the transfer remotely.

The service is part of Samsung's ambition to simplify everyday life for its Galaxy users by offering an all-in-one solution for digital payments, ID documents, and management of tickets, membership cards, and more.

The launch is happening now in May in the USA, but there is currently no information on when the service might expand to other areas.
