Several Mobile Manufacturers May Leave Google

Several Chinese mobile manufacturers are considering Google-free alternatives with Hyper OS.

In light of turbulent politics worldwide and various trade restrictions, several Chinese mobile manufacturers may develop a version of Android that is completely independent of Google's services. This is according to the publication XiaomiTime. According to rumours, a collaboration could be established between Xiaomi, BBK Group - which owns brands such as Oneplus, Oppo, and Vivo - and Huawei, which after the US blacklist in 2019 was forced to switch to its own solutions, including Harmony OS and Huawei Mobile Services.

It is speculated that the upcoming version of the operating system Hyper OS, specifically Hyper OS 3, could represent a first step for Xiaomi to gradually reduce its dependence on Google's ecosystem. Instead of a full-scale and immediate transition, it is suggested that the company would focus on strengthening its internal ecosystem and developing regionally adapted variants.

However, there have not yet been any statements from any of the mentioned manufacturers about plans to break free from the US and Google.
