The Phone for Tough Conditions

New Galaxy Mobile with Removable Battery

Samsung has launched the new Xcover 7 Pro with a range of more or less unusual solutions.

Samsung has now officially presented the latest model in its more robust Xcover series in the form of the Galaxy Xcover 7 Pro. Here, they do not quite follow the same functional lines as their more traditional Galaxy models but choose to push the boundaries a bit.

Among other things, it has a removable battery of 4350 mAh, which makes it extremely easy to replace an old worn-out battery or quickly insert a fully charged spare battery if charging options are lacking.

The LCD screen is 6.6 inches with FHD+ resolution and support for 120 Hz. What makes the screen a bit more special is that it also works flawlessly in humid conditions and with gloves up to 2 millimetres thick. Internally, it has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, along with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. The storage space can also be replaced with memory cards of up to 2 terabytes, which potentially gives it more storage than many flagship models. On the imaging side, we find a 50 MP camera with a bright f/1.8 aperture on the back and an 8 MP front camera.

Xcover 7 Pro meets both IP68 rating and MIL-STD-810H standards, making it extra durable in challenging environments with, among other things, vibrations - something not covered by the IP standard.

The phone measures 168.6 x 79.9 x 10.2 millimetres with a weight of 240 grams, and it can handle dual subscriptions by combining support for eSIM with a physical SIM card.

Samsung also offers seven years of software updates.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 7 Pro is expected to be available now in April, but the price has not yet been announced.
