Now Google Gemini is aware of the surroundings

Samsung and Google expand AI services with the launch of Gemini Live with screen sharing.

Google and Samsung have now launched the new feature Gemini Live, an AI-based service that enables real-time visual conversations between users and the device. The feature, which is launched for Samsung's Galaxy S25 series and Google's Pixel 9 series, uses the camera to provide the user with customised responses and advice based on current needs. The system combines live video with screen sharing to make usage as smooth as possible.

The feature is activated via the Live icon on the far right of the text field in Gemini and then on the video icon to activate the camera. Then you just talk to Gemini and have a dialogue if you have follow-up questions.

The only requirement to use the feature is either a Samsung Galaxy S25 mobile or a Google Pixel 9 mobile, as well as access to Gemini Advanced.

UPDATE: Despite the feature initially being available on the Pixel 9 series and Galaxy S25 according to Google's information, it seems to work on a wide range of devices. For example, we have tried it on a mobile from Xiaomi and on the Samsung Galaxy S22 and it has worked excellently.
