Great value for money

Nothing launched the super affordable CMF Phone 2 Pro and three headsets

Last year's CMF gadgets offered an incredible amount of phone for the money, and now they're trying to do it again with the Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro and three new headsets.

Nothing's first mobile under the CMF brand was uniquely affordable, but also fun, with its interchangeable shell and CAD drawings for users to create their own accessories. With the Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro, they continue on the same path. This time, the back is not removable, making the phone thinner, but they have preserved modularity by having a universal shell with CAD files so you can print 3D accessories.

But most of us might be more interested in the CMF Phone 2 Pro because it is cheap. It costs 3000 kronor with 8 megabytes of RAM, 128 gigabytes of storage, and space for a memory card. If you want 256 GB of storage, it costs 300 kronor more.

At that price, you get a mobile with an AMOLED screen and a 120 Hz refresh rate, which is remarkable in itself. Compared to its predecessor, the screen is made of flexible AMOLED. This doesn't mean it is bendable, but it doesn't crack as easily, the edges around the screen can be more symmetrical, and it is lighter. The maximum brightness is 3000 nits.

Last year's CMF Phone was powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7300 chipset, which provided decent mid-range performance, especially for the price. This time, they have an upgraded version, the Dimensity 7300 Pro. How much faster it is remains to be seen.

The biggest improvement compared to last year's mobile has occurred in the camera area. The CMF Phone 2 Pro has three cameras on the back. The main camera is the same as in the Nothing Phone 3a, which we thought was really good when we tested it. There is also a 50-megapixel zoom camera with two times optical zoom and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera.

The phone is promised three years of major system updates and six years of security updates. The phone is sold in black, white, light blue, and orange, and is available from May 6, including from Nothing's website.

They also took the opportunity to launch the headsets CMF Buds 2a, CMF Buds 2, and CMF Buds 2 Plus in the price range of 600 - 800 kronor. Despite the low price, all three models are supposed to have active noise cancellation, and the most expensive one also supports high-resolution audio with LDAC transmission.
