Most things have been redesigned on the Airpods Pro 3. The design has been improved for increased comfort and better sound. Now, five sizes of rubber tips are included, and they have a layer of memory foam for a better fit. The most noticeable improvements are said to be in noise cancellation, which is claimed to be twice as powerful as in the Airpods Pro 2, and four times better than the original Airpods Pro. Apple claims it is the best noise cancellation in any wireless in-ear headset.

The headset also supports live translation, with a simple gesture you activate the function which is mainly driven by the iPhone. The person you are speaking with is muted and instead, you hear the translation. What you say is displayed translated on the phone's screen, and you can ask the phone to read it out loud. We should not expect Swedish to be one of the supported languages for a long time. In fact, Apple states that the translation in the new Airpods Pro 3 is not available at all when you are in the EU.

Another new feature is that the headset has better moisture protection, IP57, which means they will survive even if you drop them in water.

Another new feature is a heart rate monitor in the earbuds. When you have the Airpods Pro 3 on, you can log a workout with the Health app on the iPhone and get your heart rate and energy expenditure measured. The function will also be available for third-party apps. If you already have an Apple Watch, the function does not add much.

Finally, the battery life has improved. The headset should manage music playback for 8 hours with noise cancellation on. For those using the hearing aid function, the headset should last 10 hours on a single charge.

Airpods 3 Pro can be pre-ordered now and will be available in stores on 19 September. The price is 2995 kronor.
