How thin will it be?

Wild Rumour: This is How Thin the Galaxy Z Fold 7 Can Be

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 might become record-breakingly thin.

The Greek publication Techmaniacs reports that Samsung's upcoming foldable Galaxy Z Fold 7 may have an unexpectedly thin profile. The report, based on "very reliable sources," claims that the device - when folded - will have a thickness of only 8.2 millimetres. This would mean a significant reduction compared to previous models in the Galaxy Z Fold series.

Previously, it was reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 would go from a profile of 12.1 millimetres (as seen in its predecessor Fold 6) to about 9.5 mm. The new information of 8.2 millimetres not only suggests that the device could potentially beat previously leaked measurements, but also challenge the record for the thinnest foldable device on the market. Currently, this title is held by the Oppo Find N5 with its 8.93 millimetres.

However, there is some scepticism as to whether Samsung could have managed such a dramatic reduction in such a short time, plus practical details such as the thickness of the USB-C port.
