Samsung One UI 7: "Rollout paused globally after bug discovered"

Samsung's rollout of One UI 7 is reportedly stopped globally. The reason is said to be that S24 users in several cases have been unable to unlock their devices after upgrading.

The rollout of One UI 7 began last week after several months of beta testing and waiting. First out were the foldable models Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6, followed by the S24 series with Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra.

Now reports are coming in saying that Samsung has stopped the rollout on a global level after serious bugs were discovered. This is despite the company having conducted a long series of beta tests before the launch to avoid unexpected problems.

Samsung themselves have not confirmed the halt, or its cause, but according to the leaker IceUniverse, the bug involves Korean S24 users noticing after the update that the phone could not be unlocked as usual.

The first reports indicated that the problem was isolated to the Korean market and there were reports that Samsung had simply removed the update from their servers there. Since then, reports have shown that updates for the rest of the world have also been paused and those who have not yet upgraded their S24 will receive a message that no updates are available. Since we have already updated, we cannot confirm this.  Consistent reports, however, say that the update has been paused globally until further notice.
