Withings launches the health gadget BeamO

The arsenal of health-monitoring gadgets at home now gets an addition in the form of the health meter BeamO.

At the CES fair earlier this year, Withings showcased BeamO, a compact 4-in-1 health monitor that combines functions for ECG, stethoscope, oximeter, and thermometer in one device. According to Withings, BeamO can conduct a comprehensive measurement of key vital parameters in less than a minute.

The device measures body temperature contactlessly via the temple area, records heart activity with a 1-lead ECG and pulse measurement, and assesses oxygen saturation (SpO₂) with photoplethysmography (PPG). Additionally, acoustic signals from the chest or back are captured using a digital stethoscope, providing a basis for estimating the test subject's lung function.

With the help of the Withings app, users will be able to share detailed health reports with healthcare providers. BeamO was developed in collaboration with leading hospitals to meet the needs of users who require regular health monitoring, such as elderly people or patients with chronic conditions.

Initially, BeamO is sold exclusively via the Withings website for 249.95 euros, which includes a three-month subscription to Withings+. From 15 May, the product will also be offered through selected retailers.
