Successful collections

Tele2 has collected 64,000 mobiles

The operator's trade-in programme is well on its way to achieving its goal for 2026.

Tele2 offers its customers the opportunity to trade in their old mobile phones for discounts on new devices, which is part of the company's commitment to a circular economy. Fully functioning devices are resold while damaged models are dismantled for recycling into parts and materials to reduce the amount of electronic waste. It is now announced that Tele2 aims to collect 100,000 phones by 2026.

At the same time, the company aims to achieve 100 percent circularity for network equipment by 2025, as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100 percent within Scope 1 and 2 and by 60 percent per subscription within Scope 3 by 2029. The company is targeting net zero emissions as early as 2035. Here, scope 1 refers to direct emissions that arise from the company's operations, and scope 2 refers to indirect emissions generated during the production of the energy that the company purchases and uses. Scope 3 includes other indirect emissions that encompass all other emissions resulting from the company's operations but occur outside the company's direct control.
