Now an application is required to travel to the United Kingdom - here's how to do it

The United Kingdom introduces entry requirements. To enter, you need to apply in advance via a special app, and pay.

The application for entering the United Kingdom for Swedes and other EU citizens will be introduced on 2 April, but it is already possible to apply for an upcoming trip. To apply, you need your passport and a special app. This app is available for both iPhone and Android. If the app is not available for your phone, you can also apply via the website.

In the app, you will need to take a picture of and scan your passport (with NFC) and take a picture of yourself. You must also provide your home address in Sweden and other details. The application costs 10 British pounds, approximately 130 kronor, and you pay directly in the app with a card or Google or Apple Pay. The application must be approved for all entrants, including children and infants.

An approved application will be valid for two years and the approval is linked to your passport, so if you get a new passport, you will need to apply again.
