After long and faithful service

Google Assistant disappears for good

Google is now planning to replace Google Assistant with Gemini on a range of platforms.

Google announces that it is time to say goodbye to Google Assistant, which was launched back in 2016. Instead, it will be replaced by the company's AI-driven platform Gemini. According to Google, the traditional assistant has served its purpose and over the coming months, the company will upgrade more users on mobile devices from Google Assistant to Gemini, and later this year, the classic Google Assistant will no longer be available on most mobile devices or for download.

Google will also upgrade tablets, cars, and devices that connect to your phone, such as headphones and watches, to Gemini. There will also be a new Gemini-based experience for home devices like speakers, displays, and TVs. The company will provide more information in the coming months, and until then, Google Assistant will continue to function on these devices.

Gemini is currently available in 40 different languages and more than 200 countries, which includes Sweden and Swedish.
