Say hello to a new cookie feature
Skip cookie notifications with new browser
The iOS version of the Aloha browser gets a new feature that aims to eliminate websites' mandatory cookie notifications.
Ever since the EU introduced requirements for cookie information on websites, these messages have been a source of frustration for internet users. Now, the privacy-focused browser Aloha is taking on these pop-up windows by introducing a new feature for managing cookie consent.
The new feature, released today for the iOS app, allows users to set their cookie preferences directly at the browser level. This means you only need to set your preferences once, instead of being met with the same messages on every website you visit. Instead of just blocking pop-ups, Aloha Browser's solution communicates your preferences to websites via a standardized API.
Users have several options to choose from: you can allow or reject all cookies, create custom settings for different categories of cookies, or set specific preferences for individual websites. This should provide a higher degree of control and simplify the browsing experience without compromising user privacy.
Aloha is available for iOS and Android, as well as for Windows and as a beta version for Mac.
