According to a report from the Electronics Industry, sales of consumer electronics decreased by 5 percent in 2024. The decline is said to be a result of both the economic situation with recession and higher living costs, as well as the challenges the industry faces with increased regulations and competition issues.

However, the sales of mobile phones were one of the few categories that went against the trend and increased, specifically by 2 percent. Other categories that increased were TVs (2 percent), cameras (5 percent), while televisions larger than 75 inches increased by a full 44 percent.

The real big loser was game consoles, which decreased by 24 percent, while smart homes and computers decreased by 13 percent.
