Measure blood pressure with the smartwatch

Huawei Watch D2 with Blood Pressure Monitoring Launched in Sweden

Huawei Watch D2 is the smartwatch that, among other things, can measure blood pressure using air cushions in the wristband.

Huawei announces that they are now launching the smartwatch Huawei Watch D2 in Sweden as well. Like many other smartwatches on the market, it can record a range of aspects of the user's health, but the Watch D2 goes a step further.

It is a medically certified wrist-worn blood pressure monitor with what is called Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring or ABPM. This is a method for measuring blood pressure continuously over a 24-hour period while you perform your usual daily activities and sleep. The measurement is possible as the watch is equipped with a precision sensor, a mini pump, and an inflatable air cushion.

Overall, the watch measures nine different body values to create a health report that can help identify risk factors. The measurements include heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation (SpO2), stress, skin temperature, ECG, vascular elasticity, respiration, and sleep.

Huawei emphasizes, however, that the information is intended solely as a reference and should not be used as a basis for medical examinations, diagnoses, or treatment. It does not eliminate doctor visits, but can give an indication that it might be time to visit one.

Huawei Watch D2 works with both Android and iOS, and will be available in Sweden from February 3rd with a price tag of 5499 kronor.
