Fast or Long

Surf Speed or Data Allowance - Choose the Right Mobile Plan

Mobile plans today mainly differ in how much mobile data they offer. However, there are also plans that instead, or additionally, set the price based on how fast you can surf.

As mobile networks have been expanded and upgraded, capacity has constantly increased. Several phones and other devices can be connected simultaneously, and the development from 2G via 3G and 4G to today's 5G has made it possible for those who want to watch movies via the mobile network, something that was not even conceivable when mobile phones made their debut and most things were text-based.

Now there is the option not only to choose a mobile subscription based on data allowance but also to determine the subscription and thus the price based on how fast you want to be able to surf. If you need to use your mobile to connect your computer, download large files, and watch movies, you need fast surfing speed, but if you don't have such needs, you can manage with less.

Several operators, such as Tele2 and Tre, for example, offer you to pay more to get the fastest surfing speed in your subscription with unlimited data allowance, but it is useful for a very small group of users, so first try with normal speed at a lower cost and upgrade if you unexpectedly find that it is not enough. Currently, there are very rarely use cases that require more than 100 Mbit/s.
