Gemini Moves Out of the Google App on iOS

Now it will require two individual apps if you want to use both Google and the company's artificial intelligence Gemini.

Google announces that it has now decided to remove its artificial intelligence Gemini from the iOS version of the Google app. Interested users will instead need to use the dedicated Gemini app.

Google originally made Gemini a part of the Google app on iPhone, and it was not until November 2024 that a separate Gemini app for iOS was launched. At that time, support for Gemini remained in the Google app even after the launch of the standalone app, but now Google has decided to remove Gemini from its main app.

This allows Google to now focus on the dedicated app, but it also means that users who want to continue using Gemini on their iPhone must download and use the separate Gemini app available in the App Store
