Check Your Online Security: The Swedish Internet Foundation Launches New Service
Now you can check if any of your passwords have leaked and may be in the hands of people who shouldn't have it.
Do you use the same password on more than one website, even though you shouldn't? If so, you're not alone. A new survey published by the Internet Foundation shows that 49 percent have the same password for multiple accounts, 29 percent say they don't, while 22 percent didn't want to say.
At the same time, the Internet Foundation is launching a new service where you can check if your information has been involved in any data breach. If so, your account information is available in places on the internet where unpleasant people can get hold of it and cause big problems for you.
The service is as simple as it is effective - enter your email address, click a button, and the service will tell you which of your accounts have leaked on the internet. Once you know that, you need to visit each account and change the password.
