Larger screen and more battery

New rumours about Galaxy Z Flip 7

Samsung's upcoming foldable flip phone seems to be getting several important upgrades.

There are several months left until Samsung officially unveils this year's version of its foldable flip phone, but several rumours have started to emerge about what might be expected.

According to the publication Galaxy Club, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will, among other things, have a higher battery capacity, specifically 4300 mAh compared to its predecessor's 4000 mAh. Due to the small space, the phone will have two separate battery cells, where Galaxy Club claims a capacity of 2985 mAh and the smaller one 1189 mAh. Those who can do basic arithmetic will notice that this totals 4174 mAh. This is because batteries can be measured in nominal and typical capacity, and the latter is what Samsung uses to make its marketing claims. For example, the current Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a nominal capacity of 3887 mAh but is advertised as 4000 mAh.

Then the publication Android Headlines reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will receive a significant upgrade when it comes to the external screen. They have published unofficial rendered images from the leaker OnLeaks showing a screen that is said to be just over 4 inches and covers almost the entire surface of the phone's upper half, with cameras placed in islands on the screen. This can be compared to the external screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which measures 3.4 inches.

Samsung will likely showcase its new foldable phones in July or August.
