It is the leaker Roland Quandt who for the German publication Winfuture has released a wealth of information about what is claimed to be Google's upcoming Pixel 9a mobile.

According to Quandt, the Google Pixel 9a will be equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2424 x 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 422 ppi, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Under the hood, there will be a Tensor G4 processor combined with 8 gigabytes of LPDDR5X RAM, and either 128 or 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 storage. This means it will have 4 gigabytes less RAM than the previous Pixel 9 models, but the same type of storage.

On the back, there is a primary 48-megapixel camera with a 1/2″ sensor and optical image stabilisation, along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a field of view of 120 degrees.

The battery is 5100 mAh with support for wireless charging. Quandt also mentions specifications such as dual SIM slots (nano + eSIM), Wi-Fi 6e, NFC, an under-display fingerprint reader, IP68 rating, and stereo speakers.

The physical dimensions are reported to be 154.7 x 73.3 x 8.9 millimetres and the weight 185.9 grams.

Pixel 9a will, just like the other phones in the series, receive operating system updates and security maintenance for a full seven years, that is, up to and including 2032.

The price for the smallest model with 128 gigabytes of storage is expected to be 499 euros.
