Garmin has now presented its latest smartwatch, Tactix 8, which is designed to meet the needs of both adventurers and professional users. This is especially true as it meets the US military standard (MIL-STD-810) for heat, shock, and water resistance. The watch is available in two sizes, 47 and 51 millimetres, where the model with an AMOLED display has a battery life of up to 16 days, while the larger model with solar charging has a battery life of up to 48 days.

Tactix 8 supports satellite systems such as GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo, and they also include pre-installed TopoActive maps and the ability to create your own routes, making it ideal for hiking, mountaineering, and other outdoor adventures.

For the tactical user, Tactix 8 offers unique features such as night vision mode, stealth mode setting, and compatibility with various communication systems. The watch can also be synchronised with Garmin's range of satellite communication devices to ensure contact even outside mobile network coverage.

Health and fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the comprehensive monitoring features, including heart rate measurement, sleep analysis, stress level, and oxygen saturation. With customisable training programs and recovery advice, Tactix 8 supports the user's pursuit of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Among other features, there is also a built-in torch, the ability to input the weight of the luggage for a more accurate exertion level, and flight functions with flight weather including NEXRAD radar, METARs, and TAFs. It is also possible to connect the watch to a mobile phone using the AB Quantum app to, among other things, use the mobile as an extra screen.

Garmin Tactix 8 is available now with a price tag starting at 16,949 kronor depending on size and features.
