Apple launches Powerbeats Pro 2 - the headphones measure heart rate in the ear

Apple's subsidiary Beats has released the new true wireless headphones Powerbeats Pro 2.

Powerbeats Pro 2 is not a headset for those who want something discreet and elegant. With its sturdy ear hooks, they are made to stay in place during all kinds of sports activities.

Compared to its predecessor, the ear hook is said to be improved to be even more durable, while the headset has become 20 percent lighter. More importantly, perhaps, the case has become 33 percent smaller and has also gained wireless charging. The headset's microphones have also been updated for better call sound.

The music sound and noise cancellation are managed by Apple's H2 chipset, the same as in AirPods Pro 2. But it is more than a sports version of AirPods Pro 2. The headset also has built-in heart rate monitoring to log the pulse during workouts.

The headset has a battery life of 10 hours, which extends to 45 hours with the battery in the case. The headset is sold in the colours black, grey, purple, and orange, and has the hefty recommended price of 3695 SEK.
