Xiaomi 15 Ultra officially unveiled

It has been no secret that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is making its global debut this Sunday, but Xiaomi has already officially launched the camera phone in China.

This is, of course, Xiaomi's most lavish camera phone, and at the centre is the one-inch type camera sensor along with the new periscope zoom that has received a 200-megapixel sensor. Fundamentally, some parts are similar to last year's Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which we praised as the best camera phone, but in terms of appearance, the Xiaomi 15 has received a design that more clearly references classic Leica cameras.

The camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera of the one-inch type, specifically Sony's one-inch sensor LYT-900. It is accompanied by a 50-megapixel wide-angle, Sony's 50-megapixel telephoto IMX858, and the additional 200-megapixel periscope zoom. This should provide optical zoom up to 4.3 times magnification, with extra possibilities for digital zoom thanks to the well-sized resolution of the sensor.

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite, just like the rest of the Xiaomi 15 series, which was launched in China already last autumn. The screen in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is 6.73 inches with Xiaomi's own protective glass and a 1-120 hertz refresh rate.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be delivered with Android 15 and Xiaomi's own Hyper OS 2, where we can certainly expect a lot of AI-supported news. Xiaomi has invited to its global launch this Sunday, 2nd March, and Mobil will be present in Barcelona. Although the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is now officially presented in China, the global variant of the phone may have minor changes in the specifications. We will definitely have this confirmed on Sunday, 2nd March, along with our first impressions of the launched products.

The MWC fair in Barcelona officially begins on Monday, 3 March, but several official launches are already taking place over the weekend.
