"Update to One UI 7 for Samsung phones delayed by months"

Leaked and unconfirmed information suggests that the upgrade of existing phones to One UI 7 could be delayed by several months, causing Samsung to completely skip the next version of the software.

The new information suggests that One UI 7 may come to the first existing phones, likely the S24 series, not until April, after Samsung has officially released the Galaxy S25 Edge.

It is sources from the site Sammobile who provide the new information, and according to the same source, the delay may also mean that Samsung's upcoming foldable phones will not be released with One UI 7.1 as planned, but that version will be completely scrapped. The foldables, likely Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7, will instead be delivered with One UI 7.0.1.

Samsung released the first beta version of One UI 7 in December and has in recent years been very quick to deliver rapid updates to existing customers. However, this year it has been significantly slower. The reason for the delays has previously been reported by Mobil, that the update is unusually extensive and includes both design and functionality updates from the ground up.
