Samsung phones get call recording in Sweden

One of the new features in the Samsung Galaxy S25 is that the phones get built-in call recording, and this time it will work even in Sweden.

Call Transcript is the name of the new feature in the Galaxy S25 series and One UI 7, which allows you to both record phone calls and have them transcribed. Samsung has previously had the ability in the Recorder app to transcribe calls using artificial intelligence and also indicate who said what in the transcription, and now this feature is also coming to the phone app.

We have seen this feature before in Google Pixel, but it has been disabled in the phones sold in Sweden. This is probably because call recording is illegal in some European countries, and Google sells the same version in several countries. In Sweden, call recording is legal as long as at least one of the participants in the call is aware that it is being recorded.

In the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, call recording will thus work in Sweden as well, and the transcription of the calls will support Swedish from the sales start on February 7.

According to Anders Elmby at Samsung, all new AI features in the Galaxy S25 series will also come to the Galaxy S24 series when it is updated to One UI 7 in the spring. We can therefore expect that call recording will soon be available in the Galaxy S24 series as well as in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6. How it will be with the Galaxy S23 and older remains to be seen, and the Galaxy A series, which does not have the same AI functionality as the top models, will probably be without.
