MWC2025. Our first impressions.

Official: Samsung Galaxy A56, A36 and A26

Just before the mobile fair in Barcelona begins, Samsung unveils the new A-series, which will go on sale in mid-March.

Samsung is now introducing the latest phones in the new A-series. Externally, all three are similar with 6.7-inch Amoled screens, 120 hertz refresh rate, and Android 14. They then differ in terms of performance and, of course, price. 

They are promised up to six years of updates, and the software includes Google's Circle to Search as in the more expensive Galaxy S models, but here we also find other AI functions.

Google's Circle to Search has proven to be one of the most used and appreciated services in Samsung's phones, and with the updated version, it becomes easier to find information quickly and search without switching between apps, instead starting from what is already displayed on the screen. 

When the A-series is now presented, it will receive what is called "Awesome Intelligence" in marketing, and in the menus, when I look closer, there is the Galaxy AI icon in the photo gallery. However, nothing in the phone is called Galaxy AI, only Intelligent functions. According to Samsung, this is to show that you do not get all the AI features that Galaxy AI offers in the more expensive S-series.   

Better group photos

One of the AI functions is Best Face, which means that in group photos, you can take a series of shots and then choose so that the person looking away or blinking can still have their best expression in the group photo. You simply choose between the different facial expressions the camera has captured, and then these are combined into one image. 

All the phones have a main camera of 50 megapixels, a simpler macro camera, and a wide-angle lens of either 8 or 12 megapixels. 

The screens have good brightness and the batteries are 5000 mAh in all three phones. The two more expensive ones also have fast charging at 45W.

Distinct Character

When we handle the phones, the camera island on the back and elegant details in the frame stand out, especially in the more expensive models, giving the phones their own style and attitude.

The phones are available to order from 14 March, with the A56 starting at 5790, the A36 from 4490, and the A26 from 3690 kronor.
