Cheaper Oneplus 13R Released

Oneplus is launching two flagship phones today and we have already tested one of them. The Oneplus 13R, which we tell you more about here, is the cheaper alternative.

Oneplus 13R borrows some features from its more expensive sister model Oneplus 13, which we have tested here, including double exposure in the camera for sharp action shots and a generous, large battery.

The phone has a 6.78-inch Amoled screen with a 120 hertz refresh rate and 12 GB of RAM. The camera setup is an improvement compared to its predecessor 12R but does not reach what we are offered in the new Oneplus 13. Similarly, the Oneplus 13R does not have the latest system chip but has to settle for last year's top chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Since innovations year by year are no longer so revolutionary, it should go a long way.

Looking more closely at the cameras in the Oneplus 13R, it features a main camera and a telephoto lens with 50 megapixels each, just like in the Oneplus 13, but with the essential difference that other camera sensors are used, smaller and not as advanced as in the top model. The wide-angle camera is 8 megapixels and also simpler than the 50 megapixel one in the Oneplus 13.

From the top model, the double exposure function is included, so you can easily take action shots without the subject becoming blurred. It works by the phone taking both a long exposure and a short exposure photo when you press the shutter, then combining them into one image. It worked well when we tested it in Oneplus 13.
