Which Samsung phones will get the update to One UI 7 and Android 15?

Question: Hello, you write about the update to Android 15 and UI7 on Samsung phones. You also mention that those with older Samsung phones may have to wait a long time for updates. I have an S22 plus, it really doesn't feel like an older phone. What is considered an older phone in this context?

Erik Mörner answers: What I meant by older was simply "eligible for update but older than S25." Today, it's only the S25 series of Samsung phones that have been delivered with One UI 7. In terms of updates, the S22 is actually quite old. It is promised four updates, so therefore One UI 8 and Android 16 should be its last update. The S21 is also promised four years of updates, so One UI 7 will be the last update for that series. However, the exact features included in an update can vary. Samsung states, for example, that Galaxy AI is supported not only in the S25 but also in the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 4, and Z Flip 4, as well as for tablets on Tab S10 Plus, Tab S10 Ultra, Tab S9, S9 Plus, S9 Ultra, and Tab S8, S8 Plus, and S8 Ultra from last year.
