Two apps simultaneously
Split the screen between two apps - Which phones and tablets can do it?
Not all phones but most tablets can run two apps simultaneously.
Iphone lacks the ability to split the screen between two apps, unless you count picture-in-picture where a video continues to play after you leave the app, and we do not count that. Ipad, on the other hand, has the function to split the screen between two apps.
When it comes to Android, almost all phones and tablets have the ability to have at least two apps on the screen at the same time. However, it is not necessarily practical. Generally, the more elongated the screen is, the harder it is to enjoy two apps on the screen at the same time. Tablets are therefore better suited for running two apps simultaneously, not only because the screen is much larger but also because they generally have less elongated screens.
Foldable phones are particularly interesting here, and we are especially thinking of models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Oneplus Open, where you have a normal-sized phone that you unfold to get a larger inner screen. These phones have almost square screens, and we would go so far as to say that the large screen is almost wasted if you do not use it to run multiple apps simultaneously.
