Samsung prepares for smart glasses - "revealed as soon as in January"
The smart glasses may be showcased in January next year, but a launch will not be relevant until later in the year.
Samsung plans to present smart glasses in conjunction with the presentation of its new flagship models in the Galaxy S25 series in January. This is reported by the publication Yonhap News. However, it will not be a full launch, but just a video or image at the event.
This would follow roughly the same pattern as when the company introduced the Galaxy Ring earlier this year, where the company showcased the ring at the end of its Unpacked event in January and offered a closer look at MWC in February, before fully launching the health wearable in July along with its new foldable devices. The smart glasses are also said to have a planned launch in the third quarter of 2025.
The glasses are being developed in collaboration with Google since the companies began their partnership in February 2023. Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed in its financial report that both the phones in the S25 series and not just one but several different XR headsets.
